Site credits
lufs.to is a hand-curated project. These are the people, sources and tools it's built on.
Project
Created, measured and curated by Mastering.to. Every loudness figure on the site comes from audio measured in-house; see Methodology for how.
Credit data
Mastering engineer, studio, label, catalog number, barcode and artist credits are checked against published sources and left blank when they can't be verified.
- Discogs: release, credit and pressing information. Each release page links back to its Discogs entry where one was used.
- Beatport: release and track information for digital-only electronic releases.
- Liner notes, label and artist websites, and printed packaging where they state a credit directly.
Measurement
Loudness (LUFS), true peak, loudness range, dynamic range and short-term maximum are measured with the Mastering.to analyzer following ITU-R BS.1770 and EBU R128. Cover art is shown only to identify the recording measured.
Software
- Astro: the static site generator the whole database is built with.
- React: interactive search, filters and the contact form.
- GSAP: scroll animation.
- Vitest: tests for the data layer.
- Vercel: hosting and privacy-friendly analytics.
- Web3Forms: delivers messages sent through the contact form.
Typefaces
- Archivo by Omnibus-Type, for text and headings.
- Azeret Mono by Displaay Type Foundry, for figures and labels.
Both are served by Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License.
Trademarks and artwork
Artist, label and studio names, titles and artwork belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify the recordings measured. See Terms and Our Data.
