Our Data

Every measurement, credit, and piece of release metadata on lufs.to was gathered and curated by us, and the dataset as a whole belongs to us. We want it to be useful, so it's free for non-commercial use. Commercial use requires a license.

What's in the dataset

• Per-track loudness measurements: integrated LUFS, true peak, loudness range, short-term max, and dynamic range. See Methodology for how they're measured.
• Release metadata: artist, album, year, label, catalog number, genre, source, and the relationships between them.
• Where they could be verified, mastering engineer and studio credits, and per-track performer, remixer, and DJ-mix credits.

Free for non-commercial use

You're welcome to use the data for personal projects, study, teaching, and academic or other non-commercial research, with attribution: credit lufs.to and link back to lufs.to wherever the data appears.

Commercial use requires a license

If you want to use the data in something that makes money or supports a business, you need a license first. That includes, for example:

• including it in a paid or ad-supported product, service, app, or plugin;
• reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing it, in whole or in part, as or within a dataset;
• using it internally to support a commercial product or service.

To ask about a license, get in touch through Mastering.to. If you're not sure whether your use counts as commercial, ask before you start.

Please be considerate

This is a small, hand-built project. Don't scrape the site in a way that degrades it for others, and don't present the data as your own. Found a mistake? We'd like to hear about it.
